To this day, I have been pen pals with my friends that I knew from my days in Kindergarten and First Grade. Now that I am married, my wife and I have had the opportunity to go back to Italy, as my family generally does every few years to visit. The best part is that, due to the wealth of one of my old friends, rarely does the trip cost us all that much. When my wife and I went together to visit my friend Paoli, we were in Italy for about three weeks. This was about a year ago, just after I got out of the military, and before my wife got in. While on our trip, Paoli, thought it would be a great idea for my wife and I, as we had just gotten married, to take a private trip to Salina, on him. I had no idea, what Salina was at that time, but man, was I thankful to him for the trip.</span>free gameshttp://www.blogger.com/profile/15326689899777000398noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-341063256011068233.post-57499235172790833582009-03-05T23:47:00.000-08:002009-03-06T00:03:56.910-08:00Travel experiences: Kenya<span style="font-weight: bold;">The clouds had gathered above with an impending storm looming on the horizon, and we were just starting our journey. The dust from the lack of rain was blowing in the wind as if it was rushing towards the storm.</span>free gameshttp://www.blogger.com/profile/15326689899777000398noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-341063256011068233.post-51149765599839838142009-02-28T20:27:00.000-08:002009-02-28T20:36:32.181-08:00BALI & Odyssey Submarine<strong style="font-weight: bold;">Day I Transfer in </strong><span style="font-weight: bold;"> </span><br /><span style="font-weight: bold;">Meeting service upon arrival at Ngurah Ray Apo - direct Check In Hotel </span><br /><span style="font-weight: bold;">Free at leisure </span><br /> <br /><strong style="font-weight: bold;">Day 2 Kintamani Full day Tour (B,L)</strong> <br /> <div style="font-weight: bold;" align="justify">This morning after breakfast at your hotel , you’ll enjoy a memorable of Barong Barong & Kris Dance Performance at Batubulan before proceeding to Kintamani to see the marvelous scenery of the active volcano and Lake Batur, En route also visit many handicraft and historical places of interest such as : CELUK – Gold & Silver Smith , M A S – Wood Carving center , UBUD – Painting and Art Galleries BEDULU – The Mysterious Elephant Cave – an 11th century Holy Shrine TAMPAKSIRING – Presidential Palace and Tirta Empul Holy Spring before returning back to your hotel Lunch and Dinner will be at local restaurant</div> <div style="font-weight: bold;"><strong> </strong></div> <div style="font-weight: bold;"><strong>Day 3 Odyssey Submarine (B,L) </strong> <br />After Breakfast at Hotel, having the “Safari Submarine programme “ <br /></div> <div style="font-weight: bold;">Departure at Amuk bay ride a transfer boat to the submarine. "You see so much you aren't aware of."</div> <div style="font-weight: bold;"> </div> <div style="font-weight: bold;">"You know that two generations now are growing up not being aware that all this is out there because ... half of the world is light-polluted."</div> <div style="font-weight: bold;"> </div> <div style="font-weight: bold;">The "starlight reserve" idea germinated in UNESCO in 2005. Tekapo, in the McKenzie Basin of South Island, was already on its own track, seeking what locals were calling their "park in the sky." So Tekapo was suggested as a pilot site because of its haze-free sky and lighting controls already in place.</div> <div style="font-weight: bold;"> </div> <div style="font-weight: bold;">A UNESCO working party agreed last month to study what Graeme Murray, chairman of the Mackenzie Tourism and Development Board, calls "a heritage park in the sky."</div> <div style="font-weight: bold;"> </div> <div style="font-weight: bold;">"We helped make UNESCO world heritage look upward as well as around them in protecting the world's heritage," he says.</div> <div style="font-weight: bold;"> </div> <div style="font-weight: bold;">The U.N. body has extended world heritage status to 878 historic, cultural, ecological and natural sites around the planet, but none includes the sky.</div> <div style="font-weight: bold;"> </div> <div style="font-weight: bold;">The idea faces significant challenges — UNESCO's conventions do not mention the space above and around heritage sites, and there's still the question of how to define a piece of open sky for conservation purposes.</div> <div style="font-weight: bold;"> </div> <div style="font-weight: bold;">The darkening of Tekapo began in 1965 to serve the Mount John Observatory that opened on nearby Mount John. Town officials later turned necessity into a virtue by expanding controls on public and private lighting in a 19-mile ring around the town and the observatory to keep the sky dark.</div> <div style="font-weight: bold;"> </div> <div style="font-weight: bold;">Three new housing developments have spent extra money for "sky-friendly" lighting. A skating rink even installed special lighting to prevent ultra violet light from reflecting off its ice surface into the night sky.</div> <div style="font-weight: bold;"> </div> <span style="font-weight: bold;">Not that people here are bumping into each other or driving blind during the night hours. And anyway, there's plenty of starlight, as residents note.</span>free gameshttp://www.blogger.com/profile/15326689899777000398noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-341063256011068233.post-23723246273614218292009-02-19T17:19:00.002-08:002009-02-19T17:20:08.224-08:00travels British Museum in London<div style="font-weight: bold;" class="tab_item"><a href="http://www.bukisa.com/articles/34102_guide-to-visiting-the-british-museum-in-london"><img src="http://img.bukisa.com/content_thumbs/34102_UwJ3w.jpg" alt="Guide to Visiting the British Museum in London" width="70" border="0" height="70" /></a><br /> <p>A guide on how to visit the British Museum can improve your time seeing one of the greatest museum collections in the western world. </p> </div>free gameshttp://www.blogger.com/profile/15326689899777000398noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-341063256011068233.post-5995761155162089392009-02-19T17:19:00.001-08:002009-02-19T17:19:27.012-08:00Vacation in Portugal<div style="font-weight: bold;" class="tab_item"><a href="http://www.bukisa.com/articles/34151_how-to-vacation-in-portugal"><img src="http://img.bukisa.com/content_thumbs/34151_lF84f.jpg" alt="How to Vacation in Portugal" width="70" border="0" height="70" /></a><br /> <p>Ever wanted to travel to Europe, but did not know where?
